A wide chased band runs the length of every tile and catches the light as it turns.
03 — The face
Dragons, winds, flowers and seasons cut into the lacquer and filled with gold. The numeral sits top left, the way a player reads it.
04 — The pile
They land the way they will on your table. Every back carries the ring spear.
The set
Dots, bamboo and characters one to nine. East, South, West, North. Three dragons. Four flowers, four seasons. One tiger.
The case
Every set ships in its own lacquer case on black silk. Lift the lid, run the mouse over the tiles, and pick one up.

The band is worked by hand so the light breaks differently on every tile.

Built up in coats and cut back between each one until the surface reads like still water.
